Tanguy Ndombele has revealed the upheaval of so many managerial changes at Tottenham impacted his time at the club.
The midfielder has joined former club Lyon on loan for the rest of the season, with the French side having the option to make it a permanent move for a fee in the region of £54m.
Ndombele signed for Spurs in 2019, when Mauricio Pochettino was in charge, and since then he has played under Jose Mourinho, Ryan Mason, Nuno Espirito Santo and most recently Antonio Conte.
That was something the Frenchman struggled to cope with, though he has not ruled out returning to north London in the summer.
“I had five different managers at Tottenham,” Ndombele said.
“I needed something else - but I still belong to Tottenham, I may still play there next year.”
Ndombele’s final appearance in a Spurs shirt this season came against Morecambe in the FA Cup, in what was only his third start under Conte.
However, he was booed by the fans as he slowly trudged off following his substitution, an episode that made a January exit almost inevitable.
Giovani Lo Celso and Bryan Gil were also loaned out by Spurs on deadline day, while Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur arrived from Juventus.
