Tamzin Outhwaite has confessed that her 9-year-old daughter Marnie sobs due to missing her biological father but that her partner is the "dream stepdad".
The actress, 51, shares two daughters Florence, 13, and Marnie, 9, with ex-husband Tom Ellis, 43.
Tamzin split from the Lucifer actor in 2014, who has now remarried with American screenwriter Meaghan Oppenheimer, and while Tamzin has went on to find a new relationship it's apparent that Marnie has struggled with time away from her father.
Although Marnie misses her dad, Tamzin has praised her current partner Tom Child, 31, for all of his help with her daughter.
The actress took to Twitter to sing his praises as he had helped her around the house while her youngest daughter has been unwell.
She wrote: "Gratitude tweet. My youngest is ill. My schedule has been manic. My love has done school runs, vet visits, made dinner, packed lunches, cleaned, dog walks, taken the car to mechanics, & generally lightened my load to the max, all with kindness & a smile. #teamworkmakesthedreamwork"
Before her followers could dismiss his efforts, Tamzin continued penning: "For those saying “that’s a normal day” or “what every man does”, he also moved to the spare room so I can sleep with my 9 yr old to check her temp & give her meds. He holds her when she is sobbing ‘cos she misses her biological dad & then makes her laugh out loud. #dreamstepdad"
The EastEnders veteran confessed that her daughters haven't always been welcoming and supportive of her relationship with Tom Child but that she's aware that she is lucky to have him.
She wrote: "My kids sometimes give him a hard time as that’s what kids do to step parents, but deep down they know he is kind , he cares and loves them deeply,and I know how lucky I am. #appreciationpost #stepparentgratitude"
Her followers were quick to join Tamzin in her praise of Tom Child, one penned: "What a kind man / partner.If only all men were so considerate...hope your young one gets better soon x"
Another chirped in with: "He's a keeper!"
Tamzin and doting stepdad Tom made headlines earlier this year when he was rushed into hospital for urgent surgery.
After complaining about stomach pains he headed to A&E where he was quickly taken to surgery to have his appendix removed.
He had never had an operation or morphine prior to his surgery and Tamzin told her Instagram followers that he'd managed to crack up the doctors.
She wrote: "Good morning all… My bloke went to A&E with bad stomach pains and ended up in theatre having his appendix out.
"He has never had an op or morphine. He has apparently been cracking up the doctors. #morphinevirgin"
Tamzin shared a video of Tom in his hospital bed with the caption: "He has never had an op and he has never had morphine...He is making all of the doctors laugh and already hooked on morphine"
