Tammy Abraham's classy gesture to Roma fans after being asked about Inter Milan loss

Roma and England star Tammy Abraham bought dinner for some Giallorossi supporters, having bumped into them after his side’s 2-0 loss to Inter Milan.

The former Chelsea ace scored a 45 th minute penalty in Roma's recent 2-2 draw against Sassulo in Serie A.

While the 24-year-old was already a fan favourite having already contributed a sensational 18 goals and four assists in 33 appearances, he further entrenched himself in the hearts of Roma supporters.

After Jose Mourinho’s side were soundly beaten 2-0 by Inter Milan in the quarter-finals of the Coppa Italia, Abraham paid the tabs of some supporters he had bumped into at a restaurant.

The Englishman is also believed to have signed plenty of autographs, and engaged with the fans, who were happy to see him, but disappointed about the result.

This heart-warming story is cited by Italian outlet Calciomercato, via Football Italia, shortly after the Italian giant’s loss to Inter.

Goals from Edin Dzeko and Alexis Sanchez secured a comfortable victory over Mourinho’s floundering Roma side.

The Giallorossi are currently languishing in seventh position, six points away from fourth placed Juventus.

Mourinho has once again found himself at the heart of dressing room rifts and fallings out, just nine months after taking over the reins at the Stadio Olimpico.

However, the former Chelsea, Manchester United, and Tottenham Hotspur manager scathed into reporters, citing any reports claiming a dressing room rift are all false.

"From the stories I've heard, some might have been expecting me to arrive here with a black eye and a swollen face because of all the punches – that's a big lie," Mourinho blasted, after his side’s 2-0 loss to Inter.

"The story that came out of a break-up between me and the players is a total lie. We talked after the game, analysed and worked on those errors. That is how I work.

"The players told me they are happy with my working methods.

"There are no secrets between us, I say things to their face and I invite the players to engage in a dialogue.

"Everyone told me they don't want me to change, so I told them I will not change. You talk about it as me letting loose frustration, but do you think I shouldn’t reproach [Roger] Ibanez, [Rick] Karsdorp, [Gianluca] Mancini or Smalling?”

Roma’s away draw with Sassulo was their third consecutive match without a victory.

Abraham’s penalty on the stroke of half-time gave Roma the lead, until former Manchester United defender Chris Smalling scored an unfortunate own goal two minutes into the second period.

Sassulo’s Hamed Traore struck to give the home side the lead, but they were soon pegged back by a 94 th minute equaliser from Bryan Cristante.

While the late drama may have given Mourinho some respite, the pressure is still mounting on the Portuguese boss’ shoulders.

Mourinho has endured a very frustrating few years in management, with his last major trophy coming in his first season as Manchester United manager in 2017.
