Tammy Abraham has already made surprising 'love' Arsenal admission amid transfer links

Tammy Abraham has previously admitted that he is an Arsenal fan amid recent links of a summer transfer to the north Londoners.

Mikel Arteta is in dire need of a clinical striker after allowing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to join Catalan giants Barcelona in January, with Eddie Nketiah and Alexandre Lacazette also both into the final three months of their respective deals with the club. AS Roma frontman Abraham is one name that has been mooted as a potential target for technical director Edu, who reportedly was keen to sign the Englishman last summer.

In fact, The Daily Star have recently reported that the Gunners are readying a £50million bid for Abraham if they are able to secure a top-four finish this season which would end their five-year UEFA Champions League hiatus. And convincing the former Chelsea star to join Arteta and Co may not be as hard as some may think considering he has previously admitted his love for Arsenal and the Emirates Stadium.

"I love coming to the Emirates," he said to Chelsea TV last summer after a friendly in north London. "Even if it’s only a friendly, I always love scoring goals. Luckily it was the winner again."

Speaking about his childhood to Eurosport in 2017, he said: "To be honest I was an Arsenal fan. When you’re young and you choose who to support, if it’s a family thing, it’s a family thing.

"Luckily for me, it was a family thing, so it wasn’t really a problem at Chelsea. Someone I looked up to was Thierry Henry.

"His variations of finishing, his movement, the way he dribbles. Someone like that has a key impact on me.

"I would love to be as big as him and maybe even better."
