Tiruchirappalli: Customs officers at Trichy Airport in Tamil Nadu have seized 2.579 kg of gold from a passenger who arrived at the airport from Dubai.
The customs officials said that the seized gold was valued at around Rs 1.83 crore. The officials said that the gold was in the form of plates and was concealed inside a juice mixer, which was brought as checked-in luggage.
According to the officials, the seizure was done on Thursday. Further investigation is underway. (with Agency inputs)
