Ranipet: Four people, including two pilgrims hailing from Kolar district in Karnataka, were killed when a Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus collided with two lorries in Ranipet on Thursday, police said.
According to Dynamite News correspondent, the accident occurred on the Old Madras-Bangalore Road near SIPCOT in Ranipet early Thursday morning.
More than 30 injured
Besides, more than 30 people were also injured in the mishap.

Bus carrying 55 passengers
The accident occurred when the ill-fated bus was heading towards Bengaluru with around 55 passengers, and the driver overtook a tipper lorry.
The bus rammed into the truck carrying vegetables which was coming from the opposite direction. Later, the tipper lorry also hit the KSRTC bus from behind, leaving the vehicle severely damaged.
The deceased have been identified as Manjunathan (30) and Sankaran (932), both the driver and cleaner of the Eicher truck that was ferrying fruits and vegetables from Andhra Pradesh to Chennai.

The two others were Krishnappa (65) and Somasekharan (31), both travelling in the bus.
The injured were rushed to rushed to Government Headquarters Hospital at Walajapet and nearby private hospitals.
According to the information, the bus was returning to Kolar in Karnataka after a pilgrimage to Sri Aadhiparasakthi Temple at Melmaruvathur. (With Agency Inputs)
