Tam McManus has called out Aberdeen striker Luis Lopes for "cheating" after last night's controversial VAR penalty decision against Hibs - and asked Jim Goodwin to give him the same treatment he gave Ryan Porteous.
At the end of a frantic first half, Jayden Richardson slipped in Lopes, who appeared to trip on the hand of David Marshall as he dived for the ball. A penalty was given, then saved, then retaken as the Hibs captain was not properly on his line while he sprung to save the initial shot. At the second time of asking Miovski slotted home with a brief rammy breaking out.
Record Sport columnist McManus reckons it was a "blatant" dive - and asked Jim Goodwin, who accused Ryan Porteous of cheating earlier in the season, to give his own player the same treatment. McManus tweeted: "Catching up on the Hibs game now as was out last night. The first few weeks of VAR has got to be pretty concerning. How the Aberdeen pen (blatant dive by the way, will Jim call his own players out for cheating?) was given by VAR with officials having different angles to look at is astounding."
The 41-year-old now works as a pundit but turned out over 100 times for the Easter Road side. As well as a host of Scottish clubs, McManus also had stints in Ireland, Northern Ireland and America. And the former striker believes Hibs' Friday night showing in the Granite City was unacceptable.
McManus added: "On game itself. Hibs have had plenty of the ball and created chances again but to lose 4-1 is abysmal. Seemed every time Aberdeen went up the park they scored. Seems to be a real softness in the team and Lee Johnson needs to sort that quickly. Won't be acceptable to the fans."
