Tallahassee Mayor John Dailey has emphasized the seriousness with which the city is approaching the looming threat of Hurricane Helene. Described as potentially the most powerful storm ever to hit Tallahassee in recorded history, preparations have been underway for the past week.

The city, known for being a college town housing institutions such as Florida State University and Florida A&M University, has been proactive in its response to the impending storm. Mayor Dailey commended the universities for their swift action in evacuating students to ensure their safety.

One of the mayor's primary concerns is the possibility of power outages, structural damage, and downed trees as a result of Hurricane Helene. In anticipation of these challenges, Tallahassee has tripled its workforce to address potential issues and ensure a coordinated response.

Residents are urged to stay informed and follow any evacuation orders or safety guidelines issued by local authorities. The city is working diligently to mitigate the impact of the storm and protect the well-being of its residents.
