Tallaght pair reunited on First Dates Ireland after matching on dating apps

A pair of youngsters from Tallaght were reunited on First Dates Ireland after matching on dating apps over the years.

Adam, 28, and Clodagh, 27, immediately recognised each other when the pair were "introduced" at the bar upstairs in the Gibson Hotel during Thursday night's episode of First Dates. The pair looked different from each other with Adam towering over Clodagh.

However, they are both from the same Dublin suburb - Tallaght. They had also matched on various dating apps and even chatted to each other on them.

"He was with the wrong crowd when he was younger," Clodagh said of Adam in her solo interview with the First Dates crew. "So you probably would have, not walked away from him, but you wouldn't have given him a chance to get to know you."

It was clear from early on that Clodagh was warming to the more mature version of Adam in front of her, while he made no secret of the fact that he fancied Clodagh. One potential stumbling block, highlighted by Adam, was the fact that Tallaght people tend to voice opinions about everyone in the area and who they're with.

He said: "It's very, very hard to be happy with somebody that lives in Tallaght if you're from Tallaght". Both opened up on their softer sides throughout the course of the date, with each discussing their trials and tribulations, and when the time came to reveal whether they wanted to see each other again, it was a resounding 'yes' from both parties.

The couple endeared themselves to many on social media, with one user commenting "Adam and Clodagh, one of my favourite couples on the show ever", while another added "Adam & Clodagh make a beautiful couple."

Unfortunately for those hoping for an Adam and Clodagh wedding, however, the pair have since decided to be just friends but left things on a good note.
