(Picture: PA Wire)The news that the government is planning to let the legal requirement to self-isolate if you have Covid expire on March 24 may have been a surprise for many, as we have all got so used to the idea of having restrictions imposed on us ever since the virus landed on these shores sometime in early 2020. And while it is clear that Omicron appears to present more as a mild disease, especially for the vaccinated and those with their booster shots, the idea of simply going about your daily life while knowing you are positive for Covid may still sound alarming.
However, Prime Minister Boris Johnson has suggested that there still may be some guidance on what to do if you contract the virus after March 24, saying: "As Covid becomes endemic, we will need to replace legal requirements with advice and guidance, urging people with the virus to be careful and considerate of others.
He added: "The self-isolation regulations expire on March 24, at which point I very much expect not to renew them.
