'Talk after' - Mohamed Salah sent blunt message by ex-Liverpool star after Real Madrid tweet

Former Liverpool star Didi Hamann says he is “not a big fan” of Mohamed Salah’s tweet aimed at Real Madrid.

The Reds will face the La Liga giants in the Champions League final at the Stade de France in Paris later this month. Liverpool saw off Villarreal in their semi-final before Madrid recorded a dramatic victory over Manchester City.

After Madrid beat City, Salah took to Twitter to send a warning to the Spanish giants. ”We have a score to settle,” wrote the Egyptian.

This is likely to be in reference to the 2018 Champions League final. The Reds lost 3-1 in Kyiv to Madrid with Salah departing the match early after suffering a shoulder injury following a challenge by Sergio Ramos.

Giving his views on Salah’s tweet, Hamman has criticised the Egyptian and believes he should “keep it quiet” until after the match. The Champions League winner went on to issue a warning to the Liverpool superstar ahead of the final.

“I saw the tweet and I’m no big fan of it, I’ve got to say,” Hamann told Sky Sports News. “Because, what happened that day [2018 final], I’m not sure whether it was Ramos’ intention to injure him [Salah].

“Yes he pulled him down and it was unfortunate that Salah had to come off, but even so it took one or two goalkeeping mistakes from Liverpool’s way to swing that game into Madrid’s favour.

“I always prefer it when players keep it quiet, they can talk after the game, but I can understand where Salah is coming from. He said after the Villarreal game that he would rather play Real Madrid than Manchester City, he’s got them now and let’s hope he has a cool head.”
