The Scottish Beauty Industry Awards 2022 was a memorable night dedicated to the country’s beauty industry that employs hundreds of people, enhancing the prosperity of the Scottish communities.

Nicola Blackstock, 38, said: “I am delighted to have won the Makeup Artist of the Year award. After my maternity leave, I worked endlessly to grow my business while opening my own Paisley town centre makeup school and studio.

“This recognition really makes all the sacrifices worthwhile and gives me a surge of confidence to continue to go for all my goals.”

The mum-of-two already has an impressive list of accolades under her belt including Makeup artist of the year 2019 at the Scottish Beauty Industry Awards and Freelance Makeup Specialist of the year 2021 at the Scottish beauty Industry Awards.

“With fierce competition this year, we would like to congratulate all finalists and winners for their achievements, and we hope that they will keep up their amazing work.”

In line with the success at the award ceremony, Nicola has also created her own brush line and is getting an online shop ready to launch.

Nicola wanted to create tools for her students to use to help the students progress with their artistry skills.

She has also launched a new radio show called Vibe which is scheduled at 2pm every Monday from Paisley Radio.
