New owners are stepping in to run a cafe that's located in a "beautiful park". Alfresco Caffe in West Bridgford will close on Saturday April 15 under the present ownership.
After a makeover it will reopen later this month with a new name, Little Green. Nikki Straw and her daughter Daisy will be running the kiosk, which has seating inside and out, at Bridgford Park, off Central Avenue.
Nikki, who lives in Southwell, said: "It's lovely. It's such a beautiful park and we are really excited to be there. It's not like being on the high street. We can't wait. It has come around quite quickly. It's been Daisy's dream for a long, long time and we are looking forward to it being the beginning of a big adventure."

There isn't a firm date for reopening but Nikki estimated redecorating will take around 10 days. "The name Little Green just made sense with it being in the park and it's little. We will keep the same coffee. [The present owner] Maria has been well known for her great coffee. We hope not to change too much. We will still be doing paninis and would like to add a little bit more.
"We'll be doing fresh cakes, homemade, and pastries. We have known Maria a long time. They also have a cafe in Southwell and I used to have a shop next door. I've had a catering company in the past. My daughter has done lots of hospitality work - she's the brains, and I'm the brawn. She's done several ski seasons and has worked in Canada and France a lot, cheffing and chalet hosting."
While the new proprietors can't wait to get stuck in, current owner Maria Digisi is sad to be leaving the Italian-style cafe due to personal reasons. She said: "I'm sorry to say goodbye to West Bridgford. Our regulars have been really lovely. We've been there 11 years so they have become friends more than anything."
Maria and business partner Maurizio Giangrosso will continue to run Alfresco Caffe in Queen Street. Southwell. "We are hoping that some of the regulars will come and see us at Southwell. Nothing is changing there," she added.
