Tomiyasu, Smith Rowe, Lacazette: The latest Arsenal injury news ahead of Leicester clash

Arsenal welcome Leicester City to the Emirates Stadium on Sunday afternoon as the Gunners continue their push for UEFA Champions League football.

Mikel Arteta's side clinched a 3-2 win against Watford last weekend, leaving them one point above Manchester United with three games in hand on Ralf Rangnick's men.

The north London outfit defeated the Foxes 2-0 at the King Power earlier this season and the east Midlands-based club won't have to face their talisman Jamie Vardy, who is out due to injury.

On the other hand, Arsenal don't have too many injury problems of their own to worry about ahead of Sunday's match but there are still a couple of concerns.

With that being said, football.london has now taken a look at who may or may not miss the clash with Brendan Rodgers' side.

Takehiro Tomiyasu

Tomiyasu has been out of action for a few weeks now as a result of injuries to both his calves.

What Arteta said: "Tomiyasu we’re still assessing him because we’re taking some time to try to protect him and get him in the best and safest possible way."

Expected return date: Unknown.

Emile Smith Rowe

Smith Rowe missed the clash with Wolves on February 24 through illness and was expected to return against the Hornets.

However, the club revealed before the game that he had tested positive for Covid-19.

The Hale End academy graduate has been in sublime form recently, netting nine Premier League goals, more than any other Arsenal player this term.

Fans will be hoping that he's well enough to return against Leicester, with Arteta confirming that the England international should be fit enough to play.

What Arteta said: "Emile looks like he’s going to be available."

Expected return date: Leicester (H) - March 13

Alexandre Lacazette

Lacazette posted an image of his slightly cut foot on Instagram, joking that Thomas Partey is a 'killer' for leaving a late challenge on him in training.

Arsenal are evidently working hard on the training pitch - perhaps a little too hard in fact, as the forward shared on Wednesday.

The Frenchman shared an image of his slightly grazed foot and lower leg on his Instagram story, along with the caption: "PLAYER OF THE MONTH. KILLER OF THE DAY @THOMASPARTEY5."

Lacazette was clearly insinuating that Partey - the Gunners' Player of the Month for February - had left a late challenge on him at Arsenal's London Colney training ground as the Gunners prepare to host Leicester City on Sunday.

However, football.london understands that the Frenchman is only sporting a bruised ankle and is expected to be involved in the weekend's league encounter against the Foxes.

What Arteta said: "Yes, I hope so" (when asked if he will be available).

Expected return date: Leicester (H) - March 13
