The Ravens and Commanders squared off for their first of two joint practices Tuesday and the rivals didn’t hold back any intensity or physical play.
There were scuffles in the later portions of practice, and deep balls galore from star quarterback Lamar Jackson.
“That’s the bottom line; we got a lot of work done,” Harbaugh said. “Joint practices are a challenge, always, obviously, because you’ve got two teams out here, and there is a lot of pride. I thought it was a really good practice. We had a couple dust-ups, which you don’t want to see, but it’s not really unexpected. I thought they got handled pretty quickly.”
With Day 2 of practice set to begin shortly, here are takeaways and observations from Day 1.
Scuffles galore
Two physical and intense teams matched up on Monday for the first of two joint practice sessions and it was the skill players that got everything popping off.
Ravens receiver Tylan Wallace got into it with Washington’s Emmanuel Forbes, and after Devin Duvernay entered the fray, the mini-brawl was on.

“We want to be competitive and play inside the rules, and I thought today was a good day,” Andrews said. “Obviously, [there was] a lot of competitiveness, a lot of chippiness, but [I have] a lot of respect for the organization and what they stand for.”
Zay Flowers and Emmanuel Forbes link up
Amid the scuffles and intense practice sessions, was the beauty of first round rookies Zay Flowers (Ravens) matching with former Mississipi State cornrback Emmanuel Forbes (Commanders).
1-on-1s always favor the receiver and Tuesday was no different with Flowers cooking Forbes and every other Washington cornerback.

We highlighted Baltimore’s left guard battle as one to watch and Tuesday provided another opportunity for John Simpson to stand out.
