Takeaways and observations from Eagles shocking 20-17 loss to Seahawks

Drew Lock shined as the backup to injured quarterback Geno Smith, going 22 of 33 passing for 208 yards, one touchdown, and a 94.0 rating as the Seahawks upset the Eagles at Lumen Field in Seattle.

Philadelphia allowed 17 second-half points and a disappointing 92-yard drive, giving the Seahawks a 20-17 win to stay within striking distance in the NFC playoff race.

After a slow start, DK Metcalf had five catches for 48 yards, while Jaxon Smith-Njigba finished with four catches for 48 yards and the miraculous touchdown catch.

With the Birds in a free-fall after three straight losses, we’re looking at takeaways and observations from the stunning loss.

The Eagles have held the Seahawks to 1-of-5 on third downs in the second half, and outgained the home team 321-297, but couldn’t close the show down the stretch.

With Darius Slay out with a knee injury, it was Bradberry and not the Eagles rookies that Seattle targeted early and often.
