Takeaways and observations from Eagles Commanders

The Eagles have won six games in a row, and they’re 8-2 and in firm control of the NFC East after a 26-18 win over the Commanders on Amazon Prime’s ‘Thursday Night Football.’

Saquon Barkley rushed 26 times for 146 yards (5.6 avg) and two explosive touchdown runs.

Barkley scored 23 yards and 39 yards on plays to put Philadelphia up 26-10 before a late touchdown to Zach Ertz. Barkley entered Thursday night with 991 yards rushing, and with his dazzling performance against the Commanders, he moved past Derrick Henry (1,120) and into the top spot in the NFL with 1,137 games through 11 games.

Eagles red zone woes

Eagles kicker Jake Elliott was 2-4 on field goals at the midway point of the third quarter, and offense was 0-2 in the red zone. Overall, Philadelphia was 1-3 in the red zone.

The NFC Defensive Player of the Week had 15 tackles, and one tackle for loss.

The Commanders had their moments, but overall, Vic Fangio’s defense held Washington rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels to 22 of 31 passing for 191 yards, one touchdown, and one interception.
