The Commanders almost ended Philadelphia’s undefeated streak for a second straight year.
Still, Jake Elliott’s legendary foot got the Eagles off the hook with a thrilling 34-31 victory at Lincoln Financial Field.
Elliott also kicked field goals of 41, 47, and 36 yards daily, assuring he’ll be NFC Special Teams Player of the Week.
All-Pro quarterback Jalen Hurts threw for 319 yards and two touchdowns, and Elliott kicked a 54-yard field goal in overtime to lift Philadelphia to a 34-31 win over Washington on Sunday for their second straight 4-0 start.
With preparation for the Rams set to begin, here are takeaways and observations from Sunday’s win.
Cam Jurgens out

The second year left guard exited the matchup with a lower body injury and it could be something to watch.
With rookie Tyler Steen inactive, Sua Opeta did a solid job in relief.

Nicholas Morrow dominant outing

Morrow got off to a fast start and made history on the afternoon.
Nick Morrow is the first Eagles off-ball LB with two sacks in a game since Michael Kendricks against the Bears in that 54-11 game in 2013.

Morrow had three sacks after he had four total over his first 81 NFL games.
Dallas Goedert

Goedert had two catches for 25 yards on 4 targets, as Philadelphia continues to struggle with incorporating the dynamic pass catcher into Brian Johnson’s offense.
Zach Cunningham

Cunningham had a costly holding penalty, but was stout again on the afternoon, logging 13 tackles on the day.
Eagles gave up score on final possession

Josh Jobe learned a valuable lesson on the final play of regulation.
