Takeaways and observations from Eagles 31-17 win over Dolphins

Wearing the Kelly Green alternates for the first time since 2010, Philadelphia rode a gritty performance from quarterback Jalen Hurts, who threw for 279 yards and combined three scores to lead the Birds to a primetime victory.

The Eagles answered the call and moved to 6-1 on the season after a dominant 31-17 win over the Dolphins on Sunday night in front of a packed crowd at Lincoln Financial Field.

A.J. Brown had ten catches for 137 yards and one touchdown, his fifth straight game with 125+ yards.

Tyreek Hill accounted for 88 yards on 11 catches with one touchdown, but the Eagles were able to absorb the Miami punches while not allowing any primary scoring drives.

With the Birds set to face the Commanders in Week 8, here are takeaways and observations from the massive win.

Tyreek Hill is elite

Hill had 11 exciting catches for 88 yards and one dynamic touchdown where he was able to beat triple coverage.

Dolphins rushing attack

After having -7 rushing yards at one point, the Dolphins finished with Raheem Mostert’s 9 carries, for 45 rushing yards.

DeVonta Smith

Smith had 4 catches for 49 yards on the night.

D’Andre Swift

Swift was solid on the night, logging 15 carries for 62 yards, and 3 catches for 13 yards as he marches towards a 1,000-yard rushing season.

A.J. Brown

Brown had 10 catches for 137 yards and 1 touchdown, making NFL history on the night.

Jalen Hurts responded after turnover

Hurts’ second turnover of the game result in a Dolphins pick six, but the All-Pro quarterback responded going 5-of-6, for 60 yards, and the touchdown to A.J. Brown.

Hurts had a 12 yard run on the drive, and a 147.9 rating.

The young rookie had a major PBU, and finished with some major snaps 14 snaps in the slot.

Josh Sweat

Sweat had 2 tackles, 2 tackles for loss, 2 sacks, and 2 QB hits on the night.

Kenneth Gainwell
