Manchester City have published a teaser video on their social media channels, all but confirming that their 2022/23 away kit will be officially unveiled on Tuesday.
Following on from the wild success of their new home kit - which pays tribute to Colin 'The King' Bell - City and Puma appear to have once again looked to the club's past for inspiration.
The seven-second video shows stills and footage of City's players celebrating their 1969 FA Cup final win on the pitch at Wembley. That season City wore a black and red striped away kit for the first time, with the kit becoming a favourite among fans after the Blues wore it the day they won the cup.
The nod to the past corresponds with 'leaked' images of the kit that have emerged in recent weeks, which show the return of red and black stripes for the first time in 11 years.
City last had an away kit of that design in 2011/12, another historic season for the club. Umbro's effort that year was a favourite among supporters, so the new design is bound to go down well when it's released for sale. Here's what City fans made of the news on Twitter.
@ftblyousef_: Can't wait to see it in action!
@mcitypi: 11/12 vibes
@its_toddkraines: Take all my money
@CitehFlip: Home and away both class this season
@TheCartel14: About time we went back to red and black stripes - even if the orientation is off. Wish the back was just black though rather than having red and black at the bottom. Looks silly
@BernardoTouch: The day puma stop doing V-necks will be monumental
