Cyclists and pedestrians are now able to use new bridges that have been built at the Silverlink roundabout - and this is what they look like.
The video above shows how the bridges are helping to link North Tyneside and Newcastle for cyclists and pedestrians.
Earlier, people were having to using the footpaths around the Silverlink roundabout to get across.
But after Highways England completed work on the new structures, the routes were opened up earlier this month, allowing cyclists and walkers to continue without having to stop at the junction.
One cyclist, who is using the new bridges, said they were helping to improve safety.
She added: "I use this cycle path to commute from Heaton to North Shields for work.
"Since the bridges have opened, it's been really good. I think it has taken about five minutes off my cycle ride.
"I don't have to go down to the big scary roundabout at Silverlink anymore."
The bridges are part of the Coast Road Cycle Route.
Earlier this year, North Tyneside Council carried out improvements to the route, helping to widen the path on the Coast Road leading to and from the Silverlink interchange.
The triple-decker roundabout, which connects the A19 and A1058 Coast Road, has been open to traffic since March.
Since then, thousands of drivers have been able to drive straight through, with those on the A19 not having to stop at the roundabout any more.
