Taiwan's Ambassador Warns Of China-Iran-Russia Alliance Formation

Antony Blinken U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken visits Israel

Taiwan's de facto U.S. ambassador has raised concerns about a potential alliance forming between China, Iran, and Russia, urging the world to be prepared for the implications of such a collaboration. This warning follows recent statements by Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who acknowledged the cooperation among these autocratic nations but stopped short of labeling it an 'axis.'

In an interview, Taiwan's representative to the U.S., Alexander Yui, emphasized the need to monitor the growing signs of collaboration among these countries. While the exact nature of their relationship remains open to interpretation, Yui highlighted the importance of staying vigilant.

Yui also revealed that Taiwan's government has been in communication with key figures in the U.S., including Vice President Harris and associates of former President Trump, to stay informed and prepared for potential shifts in U.S. relations.

Secretary Blinken, in an op-ed for Foreign Affairs Magazine, underscored the global competition among major powers to shape a new era of international relations. He identified Russia, Iran, North Korea, and China as revisionist powers seeking to challenge established international norms.

While Blinken clarified that these countries do not constitute a formal axis, he stressed the need for decisive action to prevent any destabilizing outcomes resulting from their actions.

Meanwhile, voices from both sides of the political spectrum have expressed concerns about the implications of this emerging collaboration. Lawmakers such as House Speaker Mike Johnson and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell have likened the quartet of Russia, North Korea, Iran, and their proxies to a new 'axis of evil.'

Rep. Steny Hoyer, a former House majority leader, echoed these sentiments, characterizing the collective actions of these regimes as a threat to democracy and global stability.
