Taco Bell announces Bristol opening date with free food giveaway

World famous Mexican-style fast food restaurant Taco Bell is finally opening its first premises in Bristol. The first 100 customers at the new Taco Bell on Queens Road will get a free crunchy taco when it opens at 10am tomorrow (Tuesday, December 20).

The restaurant will be open for 12 hours a day, from 10am to 10pm, seven days a week on the Clifton Triangle. From the first opening day tomorrow its menu will be available for dine-in, takeaway and click and collect orders.

The US-owned Mexican fast food chain won’t be available on delivery order sites just yet - Taco Bell won’t be available on Deliveroo, JustEat and UberEats until a few weeks into the New Year. The Clifton Triangle restaurant is between the Lizard Lounge and Mountain Warehouse on Queens Road and will be the 120th to open in the UK and the first in Bristol.

Until now Bristol's nearest branch has been the one in Newport, which opened a year ago in December 2021. The chain has been expanding rapidly after beginning to expand outside of the US.

It now has 425 restaurants in 27 different countries outside the US, and bosses want to expand that to 9,000 restaurants. While it’s not on the regular delivery apps just yet, customers will be able to order in advance on the Taco Bell app itself, to click and collect, or use the digital kiosks in the restaurant, or just be served at the tills.

“Renowned for its craveable, customisable and quick-service Mexican-inspired classics, Taco Bell has been serving tasty tacos, bursting burritos, yummy nachos and its famous quesadillas to hungry UK fans since November 2010,” said a company spokesperson.

Last week, Taco Bell apologised after announcing it was handing out free tacos for one day only in branches including Bristol, only to later realise that the restaurant in Bristol had not actually opened yet.
