Small town girl Palak Sindhwani has made her space in the industry by bagging the role of Sonu in the show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. She hails from Manasa in Madhya Pradesh. The young actress has had an interesting journey so far and she shares her experiences with us.
Talking about the time when she shifted to Mumbai, Palak says, "It's been around six years since I shifted to Mumbai for my graduation studies. My brother used to live here and he told me that I have a lot of scope here and I should shift. I took a chance and when I first came here, I was overwhelmed by everything around me. I remember I stood at one of the bridges of the railway station and was just observing everything. I was looking at local trains and how people were rushing to catch a train. I would wonder how people managed to live in this city. The place where I come from is slow-paced. I was even scared initially, but my brother told me to be patient and that I would learn and eventually get totally adjusted to this life."
Palak decided to stay on and she is glad she took that decision. She says, "Mumbai has made me a stronger person and it has given me a different perspective on life. Soon I became very passionate about whatever I did. I could feel the freedom in the air of Mumbai.. I feel that this city gives you wings to fly as high as you can."
On the work front, she is happy to play Sonu in Taarak Mehta...and in the future wants to explore different roles. "I don't want to restrict myself, now that I have done TV, I would like to try OTT and films too in the future. As an actor, I want to explore different roles and grow. Until then I am enjoying playing Sonu on TV," she signs off.
