T2 Tea announces closure of all UK stores including Glasgow's Buchanan Street branch

A popular city centre retailer will be closing its doors for good due to 'unprecedented changes'.

A statement explained: "Since 2014, we’ve been building our beloved community of tea enthusiasts in the Northern Hemisphere. However, due to unprecedented changes over the past few years, we’ve made the decision to close all operations in the United Kingdom.

"We’d like to thank our dedicated sippers for their support over the years. Be sure to keep an eye out for a sale announcement."

All stores will be closing on February 20 with the online store open until February 22.

Hundreds of customers shared their disappointment about the news.

One person said: "Please reconsider and keep your online store open or sell via Amazon to the UK."

Another added: "I am SO GUTTED. Can you ship internationally after the closure? Your tea is my joy, I can’t live without it."

In response to the possibility of shipping internationally, a spokesperson said: "While we may not have a local website or warehouse within the UK after the 22nd February 2023, you can continue to shop in-store until the 19th of February, and via our website until the 22nd February. We are working on ways to ensure loyal sippers will be able to fill their cups moving forward, and hope to have more information for our sippers soon."

T2 Tea opened their Buchanan Street branch in 2017.
