When Formula 1 comes to the Las Vegas Strip for a Nov. 18 race, it will be a sporting event unlike anything ever seen in the United States. The race, which will take place on and around the Las Vegas Strip will turn one of the biggest tourist areas in the world into the setting for the race.
It's hard to imagine a more spectacular place to hold a race than with the Strip's towering resort casinos as the backdrop. MGM Resorts International (MGM), Caesars Entertainment (CZR), and all the major Strip operators will have special viewing areas, luxury suites, and other opportunities to watch the race.

General admission seats have already sold out, but tickets in other viewing areas remain and T-Mobile (TMUS), the exclusive wireless partner for the race wants to give its customers a chance to see the action. The wireless carrier has big plans for the race weekend and those start with a very special deal that went live June 13 on the company's T-Mobile Tuesdays app.
"T-Mobile customers can enjoy 10% off tickets to the Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix, while supplies last," the wireless carrier shared in an email to TheStreet. "Tickets are available on a first-come, first-serve basis and this is the ONLY national ticket discount available to the public, so customers are encouraged to race over to the (T-Mobile Tuesdays) app ASAP to save on this exciting inaugural race taking place November 16-18."
T-Mobile Will Have a Big F1 Las Vegas Presence
T-Mobile has its own "zone," at Sphere Entertainment's (SPHR) soon-to-open Las Vegas Sphere, right on the Strip (essentially in the parking lot of the Venetian). The F1 website describes the area as being "under the lights of the majestic Sphere."
The wireless carrier will also be helping racegoers maintain their wireless connection on race weekend. That's an investment that will not be just for race weekend.
"At the Las Vegas Grand Prix, T-Mobile will deploy a 5G ANS Public Mobile Network to permanently boost its Ultra Capacity 5G network on and off the track, including the new multi-use Paddock Building, garages, and pits to power operations and help ensure top performance and network speeds," the company shared in a press release.
T-Mobile will also offer "immersive 5G-connected experiences" delivering "exclusive views" of the race as it happens.
“5G is changing sports for organizers and fans, and that’s what makes it so exciting to work with innovators like Formula 1. Our solutions allow them to harness the power of T-Mobile’s network and showcase all the amazing ways it can improve the fan experience at an event of this magnitude," said T-Mobile Chief Marketing Officer Mike Katz in a press release.
The race, the first of what is planned to be an annual stop on the F1 tour will start at the site of F1's brand-new Paddock building, located on the corner of Harmon Avenue and Koval Lane. It will then weave around the Strip and across the city.
"The Las Vegas Grand Prix’s 3.8-mile track will weave past world-famous landmarks, casinos, and hotels as drivers push their luck to breaking points at speeds of up to 212 mph," Formula 1 shared on its website.
