Syria’s rebels, led by Mohammad al-Jolani of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), have taken a firm stance against pardoning individuals involved in torturing prisoners under the Assad regime. Al-Jolani emphasized that those responsible for the torture and killing of detainees will not be granted forgiveness.

He stated, 'We will not pardon those who were involved in the torture and killing of detainees and were the cause of this.' The rebel leader further asserted that they will actively pursue these individuals within Syria and seek extradition from other countries for those who have fled.

The rebel coalition, represented by the Military Operations Command, echoed Jolani's sentiments in a shared statement. They emphasized the importance of holding accountable those who committed atrocities during the Assad regime.
