Syria's new caretaker government has expressed its willingness to collaborate with the United States in the efforts to locate Americans who went missing during the Assad regime. The government made an announcement on Thursday confirming the safety of one US citizen, Travis Timmerman, who was discovered south of Damascus.

The caretaker government also disclosed that ongoing efforts are being made to find another American citizen, Austin Tice, a journalist who was abducted in 2012 and is believed to have been held by the Syrian government.
