Sydney ALW star Vine unsure on club future

With overseas clubs circling, Matildas winger Cortnee Vine is uncertain whether she will remain with A-League Women champions Sydney FC or test new waters.

Vine, 26, will be one of the hottest properties on the transfer market with her lightning speed and goal-scoring nous.

A high-profile face of the league after her penalty shootout heroics for the Matildas during last year's Women's World Cup, Vine will no doubt also have a deal in front of her from the Sky Blues.

She claimed her second championship, to go with three premierships, in Saturday's 1-0 grand final win over Melbourne City.

"No idea yet," Vine said after the victory when asked what was in store for her.

"I feel like it's one of those ones that hasn't been at the forefront of my mind, just with the grand final, with everything coming up, it hasn't been at the forefront.

"But obviously with the league at the moment, it's getting better and better but there's still a long way to go.

"So I'm hoping to see what comes to be honest."

In her prime years, the decision will arguably be the biggest of Vine's club career.

"There's a few clubs interested overseas," she said.

"But I have to weigh it all up. It's not just going over and playing for a team like Arsenal or anything like that.

"It's weighing up my life here. It's not just as easy as 'I'm going to go play for a big team.'

"I have a whole life here, that I love. I love Australia. It's a big weigh up for me. So it's not a very easy decision."

Vine stressed Arsenal was just an example of an overseas club, not one that had made her an offer.

Sydney coach Ante Juric hopes to keep his squad together but conceded Vine could get away.

"I don't think we'll lose anyone overseas this time," he said.

"Maybe Viney's the one that potentially will look, maybe Jada (Whyman) but the rest hopefully will stay."

He added, jokingly: "But I did say that last year and I lost seven (players)."

Vine will have about 10 days off then take part in the All Stars game against Arsenal on April 24 before pushing for the Matildas' Olympic squad.

It's just more commitments in a "hectic" year, which also included a hamstring injury.

"It just makes the year even better to top it off with a championship," she said.

"With the team we had, with the difficulties we had this year, with myself with hamstring stuff, with time off from Matildas.

"All of that just makes today even better."
