SXSW Film Festival To Premiere Seth Rogen's 'The Studio'

The SXSW Film & TV Festival is set to commence on March 7 with the highly anticipated world premiere of Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg's comedy series, 'The Studio,' at the Apple TV+. Rogen stars as a fictional Hollywood studio head in this upcoming show. The festival, held in Austin, Texas, revealed its lineup of 96 features, including 82 world premieres, for its 32nd edition running from March 7-15.

'The Studio,' scheduled to debut on Apple TV+ on March 26, boasts a stellar cast featuring Rogen, Catherine O’Hara, Kathryn Hahn, Ike Barinholtz, and Chase Sui Wonders. Claudette Godfrey, the festival's vice president, praised the series for its exceptional casting and writing, capturing the essence of the entertainment industry with humor and authenticity.

SXSW has a history of showcasing a diverse range of films, including comedies, horror movies, and thrillers, often overlooked by other festivals. Notable premieres from previous years include 'Fall Guy' and 'Civil War.' This year's lineup includes the sequel 'The Accountant 2' starring Ben Affleck, set for release in late April, and Alex Scharfman's comedy 'Death of a Unicorn' starring Paul Rudd and Jenna Ortega.

Also featured is the documentary 'Are We Good?' focusing on comedian and podcaster Marc Maron.
