Switzerland will hope to call upon Breel Embolo again versus Italy but Silvan Widmer will miss the Euro 2024 last-16 clash through suspension.
Right-back Widmer picked up his second booking of the tournament against Germany so will be absent. Leonidas Stergiou is expected to deputise at right wing-back with the impressive Michel Aebischer on the opposite flank.
Embolo started his first game of the tournament in the draw against the hosts, having only recently returned from injury, so should start if fit. Ruben Vargas and Dan Ndoye should complete the front three with Zeki Amdouni coming off the bench.
Captain Granit Xhaka will have his hands full marshalling the midfield against Italy, but will have help from Remo Freuler, who already has two assists from three games during this Euros.
