Malin Andersson has shared her baby’s unique name, as the former Love Island star posted the first snap of her newborn.
The 29-year-old welcomed daughter Xaya on 28 January, and chose to announce the news with a sweet black-and-white picture on Instagram.
“Here she is.. Meet XAYA 28.01.22,” Malin began the caption, which also included an evil eye emoji, which is believed to protect from negativity and bad luck.
Xaya is from Hindu origin, means ‘shadow’ and ‘protective’, and is a variant of the name Saya, according to numerology.
She later took to her Instagram Stories to reveal how to pronounce her new daughter’s name, writing: “Pronounced Zay-ah. XAYA.”
Malin said she and boyfriend Jared had been hidden away for the last month in a “beautiful, surreal baby bubble”, as she told her 743,000 followers she wanted to take a month out “to just focus on our family”.
The former reality star tragically lost her daughter Consy in January 2019, who passed away after being born seven weeks premature.
Malin said it was a “bittersweet” experience welcoming her daughter, and she said she would need time to focus on her wellbeing.
“I ended up having an emergency c-section with her, they took her out of the same scar Consy came from.. that was a bittersweet experience for me which I needed to take in after,” she explained.
“I can’t even describe the amount of love she has given us, and how it feels to be a mum again - but to a healthy baby. I look at her and I have to pinch myself..” she added.
In the picture, Malin looks smitten with her new daughter, who is snuggled on her chest.
“She’s the spit of her dad, and is covered in black thick hair (I’m jealous.) Thank-you for all of your messages, it’s been overwhelming - you guys have really followed my journey and I’m in awe of all of your support,” she wrote.
“We are sending you all so much love.”
Malin previously revealed her second baby had the same due date as Consy, and confessed she had a “gut feeling” she was expecting another girl.
“It just made sense to me. I don't know what it is, but my family has a really strong feminine energy, and I just thought I was having a girl,” she told OK!
