Swatch's Time Has Come Again Thanks to a Pair of New Launches and Cool Collaborations

Everyone knows fashion is cyclical. That's why almost every decade has come back in style. The 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, 2000s and even 2010s have all been resurrected at some point or another. Which is interesting since the 80s are just the 40s with shoulder pads and the 2000s have serious 70s vibes.

One of the most stylish accessories of the 80s is about to make a major comeback. We're talking about the once iconic Swatch watches. The fact is they never really went away. But they're definitely not as popular as they once were. Remember when wearing several on one or both arms was the thing to do? If you were born after 1986, you probably have no idea what we're talking about. Although we're betting you will soon.

Swatch just announced that it has two new exciting launches. The first collaboration is with the Tate galleries and involves a series of art-inspired timepieces. The brand actually has a long history of producing arty creations. This time around Swatch x Tate Gallery focuses on a journey through time, self-expression and genre. In line with those themes, the artists and designs selected encapsulate that "boundary-pushing, innovation, positive provocation, and joie de vivre that Swatch is known for." These collectibles are meant for flaunting with bold patterns and vibrant colors. This is exactly where that old trick of stacking your Swatches comes in handy. Select styles are already available with the rest now available for pre-order.

Can't get enough? You're in luck. The Swatch Art Journey 2024 immersive experience at 180 Studios in London is now open to the public until Saturday, March 23.

Next up is a collab that's truly out of this world. MISSION TO MOONPHASE continues the brand's partnership with fellow watchmaker Omega. Two years after the brands first teamed up, this fresh face is fully loaded. Like its predecessors from the Bioceramic MoonSwatch Collection, the new take boasts a chronograph function. There's even a moon phase function, which explains the model's moniker. This is the first time in the history of Swatch that the brand has doubled down with both a moon phase and a chronograph in one chic package.

Of course it wouldn't be a Swatch without a playful accent. That's why Snoopy is featured prominently on its face lounging on the moon. Why choose the Peanuts main character? Well, Snoopy has served as a NASA mascot since the 60s and astronauts actually consider the adorable dog "a lucky charm." Lunar Snoopy even glows because he "can't sleep without a night light."

Make sure to add March 26 to your calendar and set your soon-to-be-outdated smartwatch to remind you to pick up this sure-to-be treasure that will always be in style.
