Swansea’s Waterfront Winterland will return from Tuesday, November 8, and the Christmas parade will also be going ahead again this year. Organisers confirmed on Monday, October 3, that Waterfront Winterland - better known as winter wonderland - will be returning with its popular ice walk through the trees at the city’s Museum Park.
They say there will be special deals to ensure the event is affordable for families taking into account the current economic climate. As a result organisers have introduced a new “super saver” ticket which they say offers “substantial savings”.
“Brand new for 2022, students and families can purchase super saver tickets, offering substantial savings on their Waterfront Winterland experience,” they said on Monday. “The super saver student ticket includes skating, an adult meal and a choice of beer, small wine or mulled wine, with a total saving of £6. The family super saver ticket offers two adults and two children, or one adult and three children, a saving of £18 on skating for four, or or two adult meals, and two or three children’s meals, with drinks included.”

The wonderland will again be hosted by Sayers Events and will feature an ice walk, a rink, food stalls, and the ever popular Alpine Village with live entertainment. Norman Sayers, who oversees the running of the event, said: “We’re delighted to be back in Swansea for 2022. We’re particularly excited about our brand new super saver tickets offering savings to visitors as we enter this cost of living crisis. With our improved and extended layout from 2021 returning this year, we’re looking forward to welcoming visitors back and providing all that important festive cheer.”
Swansea Council cabinet member Robert Francis-Davies said a date for the free annual city parade will be announced soon. He added: “It’s great to welcome back Norman Sayers to host Swansea’s Waterfront Winterland again this year, and we’re happy that he’s introduced new offers that take into account the cost of living crisis.”
A standard ticket for a child is £10, an adult is £12.50, a student is £11, and a family ticket is £36. A student super saver ticket is £20 and a family super saver is £58.
Accessible sessions for skating will be during the first hour of skate sessions every Tuesday. If you would like to skate it is recommended that you pre-book tickets. General admission into Museum Park is free.
