One of Swansea's most popular bars has a new home. Gin Ne Sais Quoi, previously located in the J-Shed in SA1, has relocated to York Street in the city centre. The glamorous gin bar replaces Old Havana rum bar, above Positano restaurant which recently replaced Juniper Place restaurant.
CEO of Swansea-based Creative Dining Group, which owns Gin Ne Sais Quoi and Positano and a handful of other venues in Swansea and Cardiff, Leon Hogan has confirmed the bar is now open to the public and said the move comes after issues with the previous unit.
Fortunately, the new bar has the same theme and luxurious decorations customers know and love from its previous site and is a bigger unit, with greater space for customers and 15 new jobs created.

"Gin Ne Sais Quoi is now open, we've got Gin Ne Sais Quoi upstairs and Positano restaurant downstairs. We've moved our staff over from the old sites, and we've created 15 new part-time jobs in Gin Ne Sais Quoi as it's a bigger place than before," Leon said. "Positano is currently open six days a week, from 12pm to 10.30pm Tuesday to Sunday, and Gin Ne Sais Quoi is open Thursdays 3pm to 12am midnight and Fridays to Sundays 12pm to 2am."
The confirmation comes after eagle-eyed locals spotted new signage at the site and the closure of the former unit in J Shed. As well as the closure of Positano and Gin Ne Sais Quoi there, the Grade II-listed J Shed building has seen further change in recent weeks with The Welsh House bar and restaurant replacing Marco Pierre White Steakhouse. At Gin Ne Sais Quoi, which combines its main offering (gin) with the chic French phrase 'Je ne sais quoi,' (which translates to 'I don't know what' and means that something has a special, indescribable something), customers will find a wide range of cocktails and gins available, as well as premium rum, Vodka, scotch, bourbon, liqueurs, beers, ciders, wines and champagnes, shots and soft drinks.
On the cocktail menu, you'll find everything from classic favourites like a Cosmopolitan, Margarita, and Espresso Martini to more specialist cocktails like a Parma Violet Express (Whitley Neil parma violet gin, creme de violette, fresh lemon, Prosecco and sugar syrup) and Candy Floss Mountain (Boseford Pink Rose gin, fresh lemon, sugar syrup, marshmallows and cotton candy), to luxurious signature cocktails like a Bartenders Retreat (Wray & Nephew overproof rum, fresh lime, fresh passionfruit and sugar syrup) and a Raspberry Dream (Unicorn raspberry gin, egg white, cranberry juice, fresh lemon and vanilla syrup). You can read the full cocktail menu on the bar's website here.
Gin Ne Sais Quoi is open now and can be found upstairs at 1 York Street, Swansea city centre
