Swansea's foodie circus tent pop up is returning to Singleton Park next month

One of Swansea's most popular outdoor dining and drinking events, the Swansea Bay Pop Up, has confirmed it's returning next month.

A giant Big Top tent will be set up in Singleton Park housing dozens of tables for locals and visitors alike to relax and socialise with friends, while enjoying beers, cocktails and a wide range of food from a mixture of beer bars, cocktail bars, street food stalls and food vendor vans located around the outskirts of the tent.

The event was a massive hit in 2021 and tables were socially-distanced, in keeping with Covid regulations of the time. This year's event is expected to be even bigger as restrictions will have lifted in time for the Pop Up's launch on April 28.

It has not yet been confirmed how long the Swansea Bay Pop Up will be located at Singleton Park, but the online reservation system allows people to enquire about booking a table for any date from Thursday, April 28.

It's understood the Pop Up will be open from 12pm to 11pm each day, with guests able to book a two-hour time slot, or slightly longer if arriving after 8.15pm.

Announcing the Pop Up's heavily-anticipated return, staff wrote on social media: "SWANSEA BAY POP UP IS BACK. Yes that’s right, we are back on April 28 in Singleton Park and we can’t wait to see you again!

"Our big top tent will soon be going up so get ready for amazing food and drinks, a fantastic atmosphere and good times with your friends, families and doggies!

"Booking is now OPEN!

"We’re also on the hunt for independent food vendors to join us this year – whether you’ve got your own van or not, we’d love to hear from you. Visit our website for more info!"

The event was incredibly popular last summer, with bars and food stalls based at the giant tent for three months and thousands of people spending an afternoon or an evening relaxing in the summer sunshine with a pint or two.

Some of the local foodie businesses which had stalls last year include: Gower Brewery, Peppermint Bar and Kitchen, Brewstone, Grango, Brewdog Swansea, Bambu, Bucking Burrito and Rasoi. The list of this year's businesses has not yet been announced, but it's understood many of last year's vendors are likely to return this year.

The Swansea Bay Pop-Up is open to all, including under 18s (if accompanied by an adult) and dogs on leads, but with all tables being tables of six, the event is arguably most suited to groups of friends or families.

The event is cashless and people will be able to order to their table by scanning a QR code on their smartphone and placing their order.

Organisers recommend people pre-book their table, to avoid disappointment. You can do this online here. Your card details are taken but a £10 charge will only be taken if you fail to arrive for your booking, or cancel less than 48-hours before your booking.
