A popular family Swansea attraction has been forced to close just two days after reopening for the summer. Blackpill Lido is the city's very own outdoor water park and is a huge hit in the summer months, being completely free to use.
But after re-opening on Saturday, April 29, Swansea Council was forced to close it on Bank Holiday Monday due to "operational issues". Situated on Swansea Prom at Blackpill overlooking Swansea Bay, Blackpill Lido has a great paddling pool and water features, as well as a children’s play area, climbing rock and picnic facilities.
It means many families would have been left having to make alternative plans for the extended weekend. Swansea Council apologised for any disappointment.

A statement posted by Swansea Council on its Facebook page read: "Due to operational issues we have had to close Blackpill Lido and it won’t be open today, Bank Holiday Monday. We’d like to apologise for any disappointment and we’ll update you as soon as it is up and running again."
Swansea Council has been contacted by WalesOnline for further comment.
