A special festival event similar to Beaujolais day is returning to Swansea, bringing a taste of Spain to the city with the hopes of promoting networking. Rioja Day, set to take place on June 9, is aimed to be an opportunity for businesses to network together and celebrate the festivities and enjoy food and drink in the city centre.
Swansea BID (Business Improvement District) has reintroduced the day which will see a number of businesses take part both in hosting and participating. A handful of businesses in Swansea are set to take part in the events including: Bambu Beach Bar, The Grand Hotel, Brewdog, Juniper Place, Old Havana and Peppermint - with all expected to offer a menu unique to the day.

Swansea BID Chief Executive, Russell Greenslade said: “We have relaunched Rioja Day to complement Beaujolais Day and give the business community an additional opportunity to come together and experience the beating heart of the city. There are so many benefits from bringing people together and we’re excited to see how this could evolve into a new social calendar marker alongside Beaujolais Day.
"We want people to visit the city centre and take advantage of what’s on their doorstep. Networking and utilising our great venues to get to know others is often overlooked. Working together to make Swansea City centre a great place to visit is just one of our goals. We’re always really happy when others share that outlook. This event is just a small part we can all play to do just that, and why not have fun while doing so.”
