Commercial cleaning and facilities management company Mrs Buckét has won a major new contract with Cardiff-based Panasonic Manufacturing UK.
The Swansea-headquartered firm, which has customers across South Wales and the south-west of England, will assign seven staff working on the site five days a week.
One of Wales' largest manufacturers, the Panasonic plant has been producing a range of consumer electronics since 1976, including televisions, vacuum cleaners, mobile solutions and notebook computers.
It is the first time the plant has employed an external cleaning company, having previously managed their cleaning company having previously managed their cleaning in-house.
Rob Blowers, managing director of the plant, said: “From the outset it was clear that Mrs Buckét’s ethos aligned strongly with our own. They are very professional and have worked closely with us to establish clear objectives, goals and ideas.
“For us, this new approach was never just about cleanliness, it’s about improving the environment in which we all work and creating the best possible employee experience."
He added: "Having always handled our facilities management in house, we knew that there would be a cost associated with shifting to an external cleaning company. However, the solution that Mrs Buckét provided offered such tangible value for the business that we knew that we were doing the right thing.”
Helen Walker, HR General Manager and Company Secretary for Panasonic Manufacturing UK LTD said, “With over 500 people working on site, the last two years have presented lots of challenges and made us think differently about the way that we operate and what our employees want to see when they come to work.
“We know that with Mrs Buckét on site every day, our team can see for themselves that we’ve put hygiene and their health and safety at the very top of our agenda. Our people really are our priority.”
Mrs Buckét, which was launched by Rachael Flanagan in 2005, has 330 employees operating across South Wales and the South West of England.
Chief executive Ms Flanagan said: “We work with a number of well-known manufacturing brands across Wales and the South-West, so we knew that the bespoke solution we were offering Panasonic Manufacturing UK LTD would be the right one for them.
“We’ve got a great on-site team with a lot of experience, and by ensuring that there is always a manager on site for a client like this, we know that their exacting requirements will be met, day in, day out."
She added: “It’s been fascinating to learn more about the work that Panasonic does, and I’m thrilled that the team feels that our ethos aligns with theirs so well. Innovation and value are core to our offering and we’re looking forward to showcasing just what our state-of-the-art equipment and techniques can achieve.”
