Swans face competition for Mooy
Swansea City will likely face intense competition were they to pursue a deal for midfielder Aaron Mooy this summer.
The Australian is a free agent following his departure from Shanghai Port, and has been heavily tipped for a return to English football.
As first reported by the Daily Telegraph, sources have told WalesOnline that Swansea have shown an interest in landing the 31-year-old this summer.
The extent of their apparent admiration isn't yet clear, but were the Swans to make any meaningful effort to sign Mooy, it seems they would likely face intense competition for his signature.
It's understood a glut of clubs in the Championship have shown an interest, with reports elsewhere naming Middlesbrough, Birmingham City, Norwich City and former club Huddersfield Town as potential destinations.
However, the number of Championship clubs believed to have made enquiries is understood to be in double figures.
Swansea's ability to put a suitable financial package together could also prove a potential stumbling block, although the money banked from the sale of Flynn Downes has clearly left them in a stronger position.
Another departure or two might just further heighten their spending power.
Questions raised over Reading's Fulton chase
Reading's interest in Jay Fulton has potentially been thrown into doubt after the Royals completed a loan move for Newcastle United midfielder Jeff Hendrick.
Hendrick has signed on a season-long loan from the Magpies, having fallen out of favour under Eddie Howe, and it remains to be seen whether his arrival will have any impact on Reading's mooted interest in Fulton.
Fulton is one of several players who could potentially be allowed to move on this summer as Russell Martin bids to mould his squad ahead of the new season.
It had been previously reported Reading were leading the chase for the 28-year-old, but the capture of another central midfielder will naturally spark questions over where their interest now stands.
Fulton made 21 appearances for Swansea last season.
Cowley's Harness admission
Danny Cowley admits Swansea City target Marcus Harness is for sale this summer at the right price.
Harness has been on the radar in SA1 for some time, although club sources had previously played down the possibility of a move materialising.
However, the recent sale of Downes has seen talk of a move pick up once again, with Swansea seemingly in a better position to put together a bid capable of tempting Pompey into a potential sale.
And boss Cowley concedes there is every chance Harness could be sold in this window - providing the right valuation is met.
He told The News: "I don’t have a crystal ball, so we will have to wait and see is the truth. While we want to get better and it’s hard to get better when you use lose key players, we’re also respectful the business side of the club has to work, too.
"When players come to the last year of their contracts, we have to consider all possible options.
"I think every player in every club in League One is available. The only ones not for sale at any price live at the top end of the Premier League.
"For the rest of us, for the right fee, they would be available. That has to be on the right terms because our owners are brilliant in that respect.
"They don’t put any pressure on us, so if we can find the right value then we will look at it and discuss with the player."
A right winger/wing-back appears to high on Martin's wishlist at the moment, with the club also understood to still be keen admirers of Rotherham United's Chiedozie Ogbene.
Latibeaudiere eager to get back in front of Jack Army
Joel Latibeaudiere says he's looking forward to stepping out in front of the fans in tonight's pre-season friendly with Plymouth Argyle.
The Swans head to Home Park on Tuesday evening for what will be the first pre-season match outside of Fairwood, and the defender, who's been the subject of interest from Burnley this summer, is looking forward to testing himself in front of the travelling Jack Army.
“Every day is an important step because it’s another step closer to the start of the season,” he said.
“But definitely playing in front of a crowd again adds a bit of pressure, and it’ll be nice to experience the butterflies before the game again.
“Hopefully we can go to Plymouth and put on a show. I’m sure they’ll be a load of Swans fans going down there to support us so it’ll be good to see them again.”
Rodon in Fulham talks
Fulham have reportedly made a move for former Swansea City centre-back Joe Rodon.
According to Football Insider, Rodon has been on the radar for Craven Cottage for much of the summer, and have now made an approach to the bring the 24-year-old to west London.
Tottenham are seemingly ready to sell the Wales international, who signed from the Swans in a deal worth £11million rising to £15m.
Rodon has struggled for game-time under Antonio Conte, and only made three appearances in the Premier League during the 2021-22 season.
He has also not travelled to South Korea for the club's upcoming pre-season tour.
