Saints put Martin on shortlist
talkSPORT report that Premier League side Southampton are keeping tabs on Swansea head coach Russell Martin.
The broadcaster states Martin, along with Plymouth's Steven Schumacher, has been shortlisted as potential candidates to take over at St Mary's.
The Saints are currently bottom of the table and look destined for the Championship next season, with interim Ruben Selles unable to steer them away from relegation danger. Selles is the club's third manager of the season after Ralph Hasenhuttl and Nathan Jones were both sacked.

The news comes after Martin was linked with the Leicester City job last weekend.
When asked about the Foxes speculation, Martin said earlier this week: "I think I've been linked with a few jobs since I've been here. I make the same of that as I did when we spoke about that in October when we had our last nice run. I wasn't linked with anyone when we were on a tough run.
"I presume that's only a positive thing that we've been on a good run. I've said to you all along, we love being here, our families are really settled, we love working with the people we're working with.
"The club's biggest strength is the people here on the ground. It's amazing how much they've bought into us and what we're doing. I know after four weeks they thought it was mental, but now, hopefully it's something they really enjoy. However long it lasts, it'll hopefully be something they look back at with a real fondness and happiness."
Martin has one year to go on his Swansea contract.
Paterson's message to fans
Jamie Paterson has signed off for the season with a message for supporters.
The attacker has endured a difficult campaign marred by injury and seemed destined to leave the club back in January after appearing to fall out of favour.
However, after the transfer window closed he returned to the first-team fray and played an important part in Swansea's strong end to the campaign.
In a message on Instagram, he admitted it had been "tough" for him this term and that he'll be using the off-season to come back stronger and fitter for next year.
He wrote: "A solid end to the season! it’s been tough for me personally with injury! Will be working hard to come back fit and ready for another tear up! #YJB @swansofficial."
Grimes: My most emotional season
Swansea skipper Matt Grimes says he hopes their strong end to the campaign can catapult them into next season on a high.
After a sticky post-Christmas period, Swansea picked up come the spring and were unbeaten over their final nine games of the term.
They fell just short of a play-off place but Grimes believes it will hold them in good stead after signing off on an "emotional season" full of ups and downs.
“We’re so proud of that run, especially when you consider the place we came from before that and the run of form we'd been on,” said Grimes.
“It’s a testament to the lads and staff for sticking together, sticking to our principles, and it all came good.
“I feel like we deserved that moment on Monday. It’s been a long, hard season full of ups and downs – probably the most emotional season I’ve been a part of, but we played well against West Brom and deserved three points.”
He added on the vocal home fans' backing: “All the support we can get, the better.
“I think the fans have recognised what we’ve been doing recently and wanted to come to support us on the last day of the season, and thankfully we were able to give them something to cheer about.
“I think we’ve shown all season that we can mix it with the best in the league and this run has given us a lot of confidence.
"It’s all about building momentum going into next season and I don’t think we could have done that any better really with the results and performances. We’ll regroup, recharge and be ready to go. I think everyone can see the way we’ve been playing and the courage and bravery we’ve been showing.
"Hopefully we’ll take this momentum forward and start next season strongly.”
