Here's your round-up of all the latest Swansea City headlines for Monday, June 6.
Martin spotted at Cardiff City Stadium amid Allen links
Swansea City boss Russell Martin was in attendance at the Cardiff City Stadium as Wales secured their place at the upcoming World Cup in Qatar.
Martin was afforded a chance to cast a first-hand glance over summer target Joe Allen, with the Swans boss making little secret of his desire to bring the Wales international on board ahead of the new season.
Allen is out of contract at current club Stoke City, and a number of clubs are understood to be monitoring his availability. Stoke are in talks over a possible new deal that could keep him in the Potteries, but it seems unlikely any decision will be made on his future until the end of current schedule of international fixtures.
Wales are set to take on the Netherlands on Wednesday night before hosting Belgium. They then travel to Rotterdam to face the Dutch again the following Tuesday.
Plymouth pitch wrecked after bizarre incident
Plymouth Argyle have reported significant damage to their pitch after a tractor was driven across the playing surface at Home Park.
Intruders broke into the 18,600-capacity stadium on Saturday night, before accessing the garage, where they started up a tractor used for groundwork.
A statement from the League One club read: “This work comes at additional cost to the club and places our grounds team under further pressure, with an already tight turnaround for scheduled pre-season matches.
“The club will also be upscaling security at the stadium to ensure that this does not happen again. Of course, this adds further expense, deviating vital funds away from enhancing the stadium, squad and match-day experience at Argyle.
“It should go without saying, but any true supporter of Argyle would not engage in such mindless destruction.
“The trespassers’ ability to efficiently break down newly-installed fencing with specific tools, before accessing the grounds team’s garage and recently-installed roof lighting control system, suggests that the intruders had a solid operational knowledge of Home Park, and the club will be lending its full support to the police in an attempt to see these individuals identified and punished accordingly.”
Argyle are due to host Swansea City and Bristol City in pre-season friendlies next month.
Wolf has new boss
Former Norwich City boss Daniel Farke has taken the reins at Borussia Monchengladbach.
The 45-year-old has been out of work for the last three months, having left Russian side Krasnodar without managing a single game.
He's now returned to his homeland, and takes over a Gladbach side that finished 10th in the Bundesliga last season.
The move may well throw the future of Hannes Wolf up into the air, with the Austrian believed to be open to a return to Swansea City following a reasonably successful loan spell in SA1. It's understood that Martin would also be keen on securing a reunion, but a deal is currently considered unlikely.
Whether Farke sees the midfielder as part of his plans for the new season remains to be seen.
