Here's your round-up of all the latest Swansea City news for Monday, August 1.
Laird ready to complete Watford move
Former Swansea City loanee Ethan Laird is reportedly on the brink of a return to the Championship with Watford.
According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, parent club Manchester United are prepared to complete a deal with the Hornets for the full-back, and a deal could well be finalised later this week.

Laird proved a big hit during a highly successful stay with the Swans during the first half of last season, but was recalled before being sent out to Championship rivals Bournemouth, where he endured a mixed spell with the Cherries.
New United boss Erik Ten Hag is believed to be happy with the player's potential and attitude but believes he needs to play in order to progress, and Watford have seemingly shown plenty of willingness to take him on board.
Wood says there's more to come
Nathan Wood says he saw enough at Rotherham United to suggest there is plenty more to come from Swansea this season.
Swansea came from behind to grab a point at the New York Stadium to get their season up and running.
“The overwhelming feeling for me is the frustration that we didn’t get the three points,” said Wood.
“I feel like we should have scored some more goals, but on the positive side, we’ve got our first point on the board away at a newly-promoted team.
“I think a lot of teams will struggle at Rotherham, but we put in a good performance and there’s enough to build on.
“Making my debut was enjoyable but it would have been more enjoyable if I could have scored my chance and we had won the game. That would have been the icing on the cake, but I still believe there’s more to come from me.
“As long as we build on that performance, keep improving every week, and sharpen up a few things, I think the results will come.”
Martin in it for the long haul
Russell Martin says he and his staff are happy in south Wales and want to be here for the long term.
The head coach has been in SA1 for a year now and he says he's 100 per cent hoping to be around for the long haul.
"It's up to us to make sure we are sitting here next year talking about two years in the job," Martin said.
"You never know what's going to happen in football, but are we happy here? Yes. Would we be happy to be here for a long time? Yes, 100%."
Martin has overseen a several significant changes over the last year or so in charge, but believes there's real cause for optimism for the the Jack Army this season.
"I feel like we have learned a hell of a lot in a year," he added.
"From when we first walked into the building to where we are now, we are really pleased.
"It's been a huge change really in terms of the culture. Every manager is different, every coach is different, what they want, what they require or how they want certain things. The way everyone has rolled with it here has been incredible, really.
"We are so grateful for that. I think the club is in a much better place in terms of the infrastructure off the pitch.
"The togetherness throughout the academy, the stadium, here [at the Fairwood training ground] - I am really pleased with that and really proud of what we have done behind the scenes.
"Hopefully that will be reflected on the pitch."
Rodon closing in on Rennes move
Joe Rodon is close to completing a loan move to Ligue 1 side Rennes
According to our colleague sat football.london, Rodon has completed a medical in Paris ahead of the move, which is expected to include an option to buy next summer.
It's believed the transfer for the former Swansea City man could well be completed within the next 24 hours, with Rodon left out of the squad that travelled to Israel to play Roma so he could finalise his loan move.
Rodon has struggled to make his mark in north London since arriving from Swansea in 2020, making just 15 Premier League appearances.
Antonio Conte said recently about the defender: "Joe Rodon is another good player and don't forget that in November there is the World Cup and many players want to play and play regularly. Also to prepare themselves for this important competition. I think that when the thoughts from the club and the players are the same we try to find the best solution for both."
