Swansea City are closing in on the first signing of the Michael Duff era.
Hearts striker Josh Ginnelly is set to move to south Wales on a free transfer.
The Swans are set to beat a couple of other Championship clubs to his signature, and it is believed the 26-year-old has turned down more lucrative offers on the continent to pen terms at the Swansea.com Stadium.
Maccabi Tel Aviv have also been linked with his services. He scored 13 times in 41 appearances for the Scottish outfit last season and can play up top or out wide.
He started his professional career with Shrewsbury Town, having come through the ranks at Aston Villa as a youngster.
He has also had spells at Altrincham, Walsall, Lincoln City and Tranmere while on loan from former club Burnley. He moved to Preston North End in 2019 but failed to make a mark, eventually finding a permanently home north of the border in 2021 and finding his shooting boots.
Hearts, despite their best efforts, conceded defeat this week in their attempts to keep him
They shared: "We can confirm that Josh Ginnelly will not be returning to the club.
"His contract expired last month and despite the club making the best possible offers to retain his services, he has decided his future lies elsewhere.
"We wish him all the best with his next move."
On social media Ginnelly said it was "one of the toughest decisions I've had to make".
The impending signing will be good news for Swansea, with question marks hanging over strikers Joel Piroe and Morgan Whittaker this summer.
