Swansea City are set to complete the signing of Ben Blythe from Doncaster Rovers.
The 20-year-old joined the Swans' Under-23s on trial earlier this year and sufficiently impressed Kris O'Leary and his fellow coaching staff. (You can read more on that here.) In March, it was confirmed that they would make Blythe's move from Yorkshire to south Wales permanent ahead of the 2022/23 season.
And the youngster is now set to follow in the footsteps of fellow defenders Harry Darling, Nathan Wood and Wasiri Williams in sealing a switch to the Swansea.com Stadium.

Speaking about Blythe earlier this year, Doncaster boss Gary McSheffrey said: "Ben’s been at Swansea for about a month and he’s played in a couple of trial games. He’ll be with them for the remainder of the season, training with their under-23s.
"He’s impressed and there’s a deal in place for them to sign him and take him into their under-23 programme. Ultimately a Championship club are going to buy one of our young players so we’ve done something right in developing a player.
"For me he still needs a couple of years of development football to fill out and to be physically ready and robust. I think in the games he played for us it’s clear to see that physically he wasn’t ready for League One football.
"Ultimately we can’t give him that time and guarantee of game-time to have that period to develop and he’s going into a Championship club and category two programme that’s going to serve him well for a couple of years. At the same time the club have got a decent deal for him.”
Blythe - who can also operate at left-back - had a brief stint with National League North side Farsley Celtic last season while he made a total of six first-team appearances for Doncaster in the opening half of the 2021/22 campaign. The Leeds-born defender is expected to link-up with the club's Under-23s.
