Kyle Joseph is set to leave Swansea City on loan this month, WalesOnline understands.
The striker has featured in pre-season but has predominantly turned out for the club's under-21s of late. He was not included in the matchday squad for the Championship opener at Rotherham United last weekend.
And he is now close to sealing a loan move away from south Wales, with Sheffield Wednesday and Oxford United both battling it out for the 20-year-old's signature.
Joseph joined the Swans last summer from Wigan Athletic and made two Carabao Cup appearances under Russell Martin before joining Cheltenham Town on a season-long loan deal last term.
However, his time with the Robins was cut short and he returned to south Wales midway through the 2021/22 campaign. Joseph - who still has three years left to run on his contract with Swansea - made 10 substitute appearances for the Swans in the second half of last term.
The transfer window closes at 11pm on Thursday, September 1.
