Swansea City's 2021/22 award winners in full as Joel Piroe among stars to scoop prizes

Joel Piroe claimed a pair of prizes as he won the Swansea City Supporters' Player of the Season and top goalscorer awards.

The Dutchman has been a revelation since moving to south Wales from PSV Eindhoven last summer, scoring 24 goals in all competitions for the Swans. And the Jack Army voted the frontman as their best performer of the 2021/22 campaign. His remarkable goal return also saw him win the top goalscorer of the season award.

Kyle Naughton won the players’ player of the season award while Flynn Downes was voted as the best newcomer of the season as a result of his efforts since joining from Ipswich Town last summer. Cameron Congreve - who has been handed his first-team debut and first senior start by the current coaching staff in recent months - was voted as the academy player of the season.

His youth team-mate Tivonge Rushesha scooped the under-23s player of the season award. Goal of the Season, voted for on the night at the awards ceremony held at the Swansea.com Stadium, went to Michael Obafemi for his opener against Cardiff City.

Meanwhile, Chloe Chivers emulated Piroe in taking home two prizes from the club's annual awards ceremony. The forward has led the line with distinction for Chris Church's side this term and was voted as Swansea City Ladies supporters' player of the season. She also won the top goalscorer award.

Rhianne Oakley earned the best newcomer of the season award. It comes after the Ladies side won the Genero Adran Premier for the third consecutive season.

Elsewhere, Jamie Paterson was named as the Swans personality of the year while Cath Dyer, who was recently named EFL Supporter of the Season, won the Lifetime achievement award.

The Boot Room - an initiative in which the club and local business help supply football foots to those in need - won the Community champion award while club legends Leon Britton and Lee Trundle tasted glory in the Alan Curtis Award as a result of their tireless efforts within a range of initiatives and club roles behind-the-scenes.
