Swansea City player ratings as Fisher has night to forget, attackers too quiet and Whittaker lively vs Millwall

ANDY FISHER 4

Did well to palm away Ryan Leonard's early strike and was more than comfortable with the ball at his feet. Helpless with Charlie Cresswell's strike but, despite a deflection, will be so disappointed with Millwall's second. Another concerning error.

NATHAN WOOD 6

Very composed in possession and was more than solid defensively, in fairness.

BEN CABANGO 6

Made his fair share of clearances and generally coped well with the threat of Wales team-mate Tom Bradshaw, although he did commit a couple of fouls.

HARRY DARLING 6

Operating at right-back, Darling did well to offer support to those ahead of him while he did the basics at the back well too. His height was more than useful when it came to combating Millwall's direct play.

RYAN MANNING 6

Some good use of the ball and had a decent header saved in the first half. Desperately unlucky with the deflection that led to Andreas Voglsammer's goal. Fired wide at the end.

MATT GRIMES 6

Made plenty of tackles in the middle of the park to help keep Swansea in control of the ball. Had the shot that led to Manning's deflected effort.

OLIVIER NTCHAM 6

Did plenty of defensive work, regularly tracking back and winning possession to help limit the threat on Fisher's goal. Had a great chance to score in the first-half but failed to hit the target.

LIAM WALSH 6

Deployed in an advanced midfield role, Walsh, on his first Swansea start since January last year, buzzed around the final third and regularly brought others into play, but didn't have the killer instinct where it mattered.

LUKE CUNDLE 6

Slick on the ball throughout without overly troubling the Lions. Neat and tidy but nothing overly exciting.

JOEL PIROE 5

Often drop deep to get on the ball and had virtually nothing in front of goal. Had an effort blocked from close range in the second half. Looked livelier after the Swansea goal without really doing much.

LIAM CULLEN 5

Back in the starting line-up, the Welshman was very quiet in attacking areas as Swansea struggled to create clear cut openings. Subbed in the second half.

Subs

Jamie Paterson (for Walsh) - Brought some guile to Swansea's play in the Millwall half. Decent set-piece deliveries too. 6

Morgan Whittaker (for Cullen) - Added the directness and pace Swansea so badly needed and caused plenty of problems. Really lively cameo. 6

Kyle Naughton (for Darling) - Too late to make an impact. N/A

Cameron Congreve (for Cundle) - As above. N/A
