Swansea City player ratings as defender stands up to the test but forward lacks killer instinct at Blackburn Rovers

ANDY FISHER 7

Didn't have a save to make in the first-half and once again played his part in Swansea's building from the back. Good stop to deny Ben Brereton Diaz in the second-half but couldn't do anything about Daniel Ayala's late winner.

BEN CABANGO 7

So unlucky to hit the crossbar with a header early on and impressed in the air. Made stacks of clearances.

NATHAN WOOD 7

Very composed on the ball once again and was always aware to mop up from any Blackburn threats. As with Cabango, made so many important clearances.

HARRY DARLING 7 - Star Man

Made his share of defensive interventions and regularly helped Swansea move up the pitch with his marauding runs. A calm and composed showing from the centre-back.

JOEL LATIBEAUDIERE 6

Operating at right wing-back, Latibeaudiere gave Swansea a threat and put in a fine cross for Jay Fulton in the first-half. Knew when to press and when to sit deeper. Good showing.

JAY FULTON 6

Read play well on numerous occasions to get Swansea into good positions and back on the ball. Always looked like asking questions when he got into the final third.

JOE ALLEN 6

Pressed ever so well and made some very timely challenges high up the pitch. Tired in the second-half and was duly replaced.

MATT GRIMES 6

Did his share of defensive work throughout and was impressive on the ball in the first-half. Found the going tougher after the restart.

RYAN MANNING 7

The Irishman's energy on the left caused Blackburn problems while his ability to press and win the ball at crucial moments helped keep Swansea on the front foot. Tackled for fun, to his credit.

LUKE CUNDLE 6

Neat enough on the ball once again and did his bit in keeping the pressure on the hosts when possible. Withdrawn after an hour.

JOEL PIROE 6

Got into some promising positions and linked up nicely with those around him, but didn't have the killer instinct needed in the final third. Decent strike at Aynsley Pears late on.

Subs

Ollie Cooper (for Cundle) - Brought some much-needed energy as the Swans wobbled. Carried the ball well a few times. 6

Liam Cullen (for Allen) - Didn't really get much of a chance to impact proceedings. N/A

Matty Sorinola (for Darling) - Spurned a good chance at the death. N/A

Morgan Whittaker (for Fulton) - Thrown on in a desperate attempt to earn a late draw after Swansea fell behind. N/A
