Swansea City noon transfer headlines as goalkeeper wanted, Cornick interest and Paterson future up in the air

Swansea City are pushing to add to their squad on transfer deadline day.

A goalkeeper remains on the wishlist given the injury to Steven Benda - who is now sidelined for the rest of the season.

The club are not expecting a flurry of late activity, although work is being done to get at least one deal over the line, with a striker and a right-sided defender also being areas Russell Martin has been keen to strengthen.

LIVE UPDATES: Swansea City transfer news live

A move for Rotherham United's Chiedozie Ogbene appears highly unlikely, but Harry Cornick's situation at Luton Town remains interesting.

The Hatters do not wish to sell the versatile 27-year-old - who is now in the final year of his contract at Kenilworth Road. He has been of interest to the Swans this month, although Bristol City are admirers and need to add a forward to their ranks having sold Antoine Semenyo to Bournemouth.

There is every possibility that Cornick remains with Rob Edwards' side, particularly given Bristol City's move for Wycombe Wanderers talent Anis Mehmeti.

As for outgoings, none appear likely as things currently stand. The only possibility is likely to be Jamie Paterson, but the 31-year-old has not been the subject of any offers at present.

Morgan Whittaker is expected to stay at Swansea, despite interest from Scottish Premiership giants Rangers this month.
